Word for the Day - 34

Jesus looked toward heaven and prayed: “Father the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you...." John 17:1

Jesus the Son, had an awareness of his Father's love for him and recognised that they shared a bigger purpose which could only be made known as it came from the Father's heart of love for his created children.

From the idyllic perfection of heaven where the Son and Father lived in agreement and harmony, the Son was sent at a specific time to a messy...lost....and suffering world. A world which needed desperately to understand, grasp and be held in the Father's love....

At Jesus baptism the Father made it very clear that he loved his Son unreservedly (Mark 1:11). That bond and purpose between Father and Son strengthened Jesus as he faced the suffering ahead.

It is our strength today.

As an individual within the body of St Johns - hear the Father's encouragement to you today:

Open yourself to my love, unconditionally. I forgive what is past, and invite you to believe that you are my beloved child. As you give yourself to me today, together we can make a significant impact, no matter how small, in someone's life. I am yours, and you are mine.

Let’s Pray…

Lord your love is amazing! May it flood my hearts and life, and bring hope and faith to others around me today.
