Word for the Day - 30

Jesus: "This is to my Father’s glory, that you bear much fruit, showing yourselves to be my disciples." John 15:8

Scripture is full of statements inferring that when we obey Jesus' commands his love and blessings flow to us, to our community and to our country. He will hear our prayers and answer them.

We find that the same principle applies in our human relationships: when we give care to and love someone - that relationship flourishes. Forgiveness becomes the norm in such a relationship, both between individuals and within communities.

God is in the business of reconciling people to Himself through Jesus. God takes pleasure in us when we participate in the work He is doing and so Jesus can say: it brings glory to my Father. And Jesus, "for the joy set before Him, endured the cross." (Heb.12:2)

Are you willing to endure trials and hardships in your life? Jesus has equipped you with all of the fruit of being filled with the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Gal.5:22)

Let’s pray...

Father, please give me humility of heart as I remain in you and you in me. Thank you that you prune my life in order to produce the fruit of your Spirit in me, and to bring all the glory back to you!

In Jesus' name. Amen.
