Word for the Day - 1

Jesus said: “I am one who testifies for myself; my other witness is the Father, who sent me.” John 8:18

When the pharisees disputed Jesus’ words about himself he spoke from legal requirement by providing two witnesses to the truth.

When I was in primary school the bus driver once short-changed me. When I got home my mother, who had given me my bus money, could see I had been short-changed. She marched me down to the end of the street to await the returning bus and ask for the rest of my change.

When we are ‘in Christ’ we have a Father who not only sends us to establish his Kingdom in the world, with the resources we need, but bears witness to the truth in our lives.

You may or may not have had a father or mother who stood up for you. But know this - your Heavenly Father will always back you up when you walk in the truth. This makes him completely dependable - and it makes you, his daughter, his son, completely dependent on Him.

Lets Pray...

  • Ask God to give you a picture today of the truth of what he is like as a father?

  • Ask him to show you how he sees you as his daughter or son?
