As part of our Lent series, on the 30th March, we have invited a visiting speaker, Tshepang Basupi to share at both our Sunday services, in line with our Lent series. He will be speaking on ‘The Call to Proclaim (Living as Witnesses)”.

Tshepang and his family live in Johannesburg and is well-known to the de Smidts as the AIM Director for Southern Africa.
We asked him to share a bit about himself, so we know who he is.
Background and Family:
I was born and raised in the city of Francistown in Botswana. I have been married to Queen for just over 10 years and our union has been blessed with two children, Lethabo (a girl) who is 8 and Ntungamili (a boy who is 5).
Our calling and assignment:
I have been involved in cross-cultural missions since 2010.
As a family we are passionate about seeing the unreached peoples reached with the gospel and about seeing Africans taking a more active role in global missions.
I have served as a church planter in Nigeria, been involved in training missionaries in Botswana, and I have served as a missions mobilizer in Botswana and South Africa. As a family, we have also served in Kenya. I previously served as the national director of CAPRO Missions Botswana (an organization that is mobilizing, training, sending missionaries and planting churches especially amongst the San people in the Kalahari).
I currently serve as the AIM Director for Southern Africa, leading a team of about 120 missionaries serving across 9 Southern African countries and 20 more serving across the continent.
Academically, I have degrees in Political Science & Economics, Missiology and Organizational Leadership.
The Basupis will be visiting the Cape during the school holidays and look forward to being with us on Sunday morning for the 7.45 and 9.30 am services.
